Tori Ichi Yakitori and Bar: Japanese grilled and seasoned meat in skewers

Tori Ichi Yakitori is a japanese restaurant which originates from Kyoto region where it uses premium charcoal called Binchotan when cooking the yakitori. The Epicurean Partners Exchange, Inc. group  brought the concept here in the Philippines. Since my family loves japanese cuisine, we decided to give this restaurant a try. We ordered spicy tuna roll, Ikura Sushi, Red tuna, salmon, katsudon, Moyashi No Pirikara Itame and variations of yakitori dishes.

As soon as we  were seated, we were given a complimentary appetizer of fried achovies. It was a good start for our meal.

Fried anchovies

Red tuna and Salmon sashimi (both 250php) - You can never go wrong with a pair of red tuna and salmon sashimi. You can easily tell that both were fresh.

Ikura Sushi (135php) - Ikura sushi is a salmon roe which is a bit odd at first but you'll love it on the second bite. It's creamy and has a rich flavorful taste.

Moyashi No Pirikara Itame (135php) - spicy bean sprout with pork belly. The little touch of spice works on the pork and makes you want to eat more.

Spicy tuna roll (135php) - A pretty decent one. It's not that good at the same time not that bad.

Pork Katsudon (135php) - I will always be a fan of katsudon and their version didn't disappoint me. The serving was big, the pork was juicy, the breading was not bad and it really complemented well with it's gohan rice

Tomodachi Set (550php) - They have a promo that if you buy 10 yakitori sticks, it would only cost you 550php and would save as much as 165php. I loved all the yakitori food that we ordered. It gave me that smoky taste without the odd burn taste. Their pork belly was the best out of all the yakitori that we tasted. It was not that fat and the taste was divine. Their yakiniku was also good too, it was soft and flavorful too.

We really had a great time dining in the restaurant and we just hope that the service would be faster next time since we waited for almost 30 minutes for our food to be served. Will I go back to this restaurant? Yes, since they have a pretty good yakitori selection and would still want to try the other as well.
