Krazy Garlik: Be A Little Krazy Everyday

I was fortunate to be invited again by Zomato Ph in partnership with Krazy Garlik owned by the Bistro Group (Fridays, Buffalo Wild Wings, Watami, etc) last September 7 for a foodie meet up. It's cool to meet new foodies, know how they started using Zomato and at the same time we all share the same passion, food.

They served us different kinds of filipino food which all has a special twist on it. They even let us pick our own choice of drink for us to get started.

Mango tango (115php) - A mixture of pineapple and mango. A total thirst quencher!

Drinks for tonight!

Krazy Wild Blooms (php 295) - Ilocandia inspired banana blossom salad with Krazy Garlic twist. This is the first time I saw a banana blossom was used as the plate for the salad and it really looked nice. The salad itself was also good, it had a light hint of spice and sourness on it.

Llocaloco (php 325) - Mixed vegetables and shrimps simmered with shrimp paste and topped with chicharon. This is their own version of pinakbet. No alteration and deconstruction was made for this dish which actually works since Pinakbet is best eaten as simpler as it is.

El Callos Capitan (php 395) - This is their take on the famous Spanish dish. Some of my co-foodies didn't liked this dish but this food was one of my favorite dish since it they added a little twist on this food, it was a little bit spicy and salty than the usual which works for me since it perfectly blends well with the tomato sauce on it.

Souper Dapper Sinigang (php 545) - Salmon head simmered in fermented soybean broth. Sinigang dish which taste almost what the other restaurants offer. The dish was okay, luckily it was also paired with a side condiments on it (a chili sauce and fish sauce with basil leaves). I did tell the management to tell the servers to their customers to use the side condiments on it if they want to add up a little adventure on the sinigang.

Shrimp Diablo (php 595) - shrimp in a bag with black pepper sauce. If you are really into spicy food, this is the food that you should order. It really lives up to its name, the dish was super spicy that it is perfectly paired with rice to balance it. The only problem with this dish for me was the shrimp since it was a little overcooked, but overall the food was really a Diablo.

Creamy Beef Rendang (php 475) - Tender beef cubes simmered with spicy coconut cream broth. I have 2 favorite dishes on that night and this was the first one. It has a similar taste with Bicol express since the dish was made from coconut cream and has lots of spices on it. The beef cubes were soft and tender, that you would want to eat this up instantly. The dish was also paired with a pita bread that perfectly complements with the dish.

Pumpkin ala Bagnet (php 395) - Deep fried pork belly and sauteed shrimp with pumpkin puree. This was my favorite dish of the night. Didn't expected that the combination of the bagnet with the pumpkin puree was a sure winner on my taste buds. Everybody loves bagnet and was happy that the crispiness of it did not suffer.

Baked Alaska (195php) - Vanilla ice cream, sandwiched between scrumptions chocolate sponge cakes, then encased in meringue. Got surprise that the main body of it was made from vanilla ice cream. It was good that the this dessert was not that sweet and you would certainly enjoy munching every bite of it.

Bananarama - Banana, chocolate, cream cheese. Upon hearing the name at first, I initially thought that they will served us the same dish that is famous on my Alma Mater but it was different in a good way. The chocolate bar was so good that I will surely order it on my next visit. The banana also complements with the caramel syrup on the plate. I also loved the sweetened garlic on the plating but didn't had a chance to try it.

Overall, I had a great time dining over Krazy garlic. We were also lucky that each of us were given a free GC courtesy of Zomato Ph and Krazy Garlic. If you want some adventure on your food, this is the right place for you to dine and as what they said on their table, "Be a little krazy everyday".

All of us were given a GC worth 1,000php :)
