Hard Rock Specials: Smoke, Fire, And Spice

7:58 AM
Hard Rock Cafe has a new limited edition food menu that would entice people who are into adventurous food. I was lucky enough to be invited to try it out. It's called the Smoke, Fire and Spice, embracing the spices, seasonings and sauces of popular street foods from Asia. Africa and Latin America. Served with pita bread, sesame slaw, Monteray jack cheese and roasted vegetables on the side. You could choose from their selection of beef, chicken and pork or even combined them in your order. It is also paired with complimentary sauces that features and represents different countries and their spices.

Here are the list down of sauces that you could choose when ordering your desired meat:

Char Shu (China) - A serious symphony of soy sauce, hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, star anise and asian spices.
Satay  (Thailand) - A nutty remix of flavors including peanut butter, coconut milk and red pepper.

(L): Char Shu; (R): Satay

Chimichuri (Latin America) - A garlic cilantro and spiced-just-right flavor proud to be called Argentina's national condiment.
Piri-piri (South Africa) - A perfectly peppered sauce made from jalapeno, poblano and crush red peppers.

(L):  Chimichuri; (R):  Piri-piri

Kalbi (Korea) - a sweet and savory duet of soy and ginger, korean barbecue flavor at its finest
Charmoula (North Africa) - A little flavor dance of cilantro, garlic, lemon and a shake of red pepper.

(L): Charmoula; (R): Kalbi
All the three meat that we tasted were delicious. The beef was juicy and not that hard to chew, the chicken was also good but what stood out for me is their grilled pork. It was flavorful and who does not love to eat pork? Even the grilled vegetables were a delight to eat.

Overall, the Smoke, Fire, and Spice were great. My personal favorite was the grilled pork, dipped in Satay sauce. Be sure to get this adventurous meal at Hard rock and it will be available until the September 30.

4:27 PM
Last month, we enjoyed the Flavors of Mexico and starting on the month of June, for its second year, Hard Rock Cafe is bringing back World Burger Tour. Makati participated again showcasing four international legendary burgers that will surely satisfy our cravings for burger. We were again invited to try out their burgers (When in Rome, Whiskey, Tango Salsa and El Toro) and their cocktail drinks (Crisp Sipper, All Jacked Up, Melonpalooza and Sweet & Fiery).

Crisp Sipper
Crisp Sipper (330php) - A refreshing crisp blend of Tanqueray Gin, Monin Cucumber, tonic, fresh cucumber, raspberry, orange, and lime with a touch of rosemary and thyme.

Melonpalooza
Melonpalooza (330php) - Malibu Rum, Midori Melon Liqeur, pinapple juice and sweet & sour for your little slice of paradise. This is my personal favorite among the four cocktail drinks that were served to us.

All Jacked Up
All Jacked up (330php) - This killer combo of Jack Daniel's Tennesee Whiskey, Bourbon Honey and Captain Morgan mixed with pineapple juice and lime juice will give you that extra kick your night deserves.

Whiskey Burger (Brussels, Belgium, 890php) - A burger with a real bite, soaked in whiskey marinade and stacked with bacon slices, crispy fried red onion, melted cheddar and jack cheese, garlic aioli, sliced tomato and aragula. Served with hot seasoned fries and Sriracha mayo.

Tango Salsa Burger (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 870php) - Shake it up with andouille sausage, salsa criolla, garlic aioli, monterey jack cheese, fresh aragula and a fried egg on top. Served with golden crispy french fries and Sriacha mayo. This was my personal favorite among the four burgers that were served.

El Toro Burger (Barcelona, Spain, 860php) - A fury of red peppered Romesco sauce, roasted vegetables with goat cheese, crumbles and aragula, dancing on an all-beef patty and between a toasted bun. Served with golden crispy french fries and Sriacha mayo.

Banana Split
We requested banana split as our dessert again since we could't get over of its taste and how good the whip cream was.

Refreshingly good

All smiles :)

Overall, the burgers were really good, The patties were juicy and you could really differentiate each burger because of its own unique taste. The serving is actually good for 2-3 persons since the patty itself is heavy on your tummy already. Be sure to get it because it would only be served on a limited time only.

Hard Rock Specials: Taste of Mexico

8:35 AM
Hard Rock Café franchise locations from all over the world are paying homage to classic Mexican cuisine and cocktails and Makati is joining the fiesta. Also, the taste of mexico will be perfectly paired with the Mezcal Cocktail Tour, which showcases adult drinks created with Mezcal, an agave-based distillate made through an ancient process over 500 years old. We were lucky enough to be invited and to try what true mexican food taste like. We decided to order Huaranches, Assorted mexican street tacos, cockatail drinks (Amigo, Diablo, Troublemaker).

Amigo
Amigo - Patron silver with luxardo liquer, blueberry, orgeat, lime juice, and garnished with cherries.

Diablo
Diablo - Patron silver with muddled cucumber, mango puree, and topped with ginger beer. Perfect drink for people like me who have sweet tooth.

Troublemaker
Troublemaker - Patron silver with cointreau mixend with fresh lime juice, chipotle pineapple syrup and muddled jalapeno rings. This drink will really challenge your alcohol and spice tolerance!

Huaraches
Huaraches - Corn masa and black bean cakes topped with carnitas, tomatillo salsa, avocado, french cheese, cotija cheese, cilantro, spicy sauce and sour cream.

Assorted Mexican Tacos
Assorted Mexican Street Tacos - choice of two street style tacos white corn tortillas, shredded lettuce, queso fresco, pico de gallo, cotija picante sauce and sour cream with tomatilla salsa.

Taste of Mexico
This has to be one of the best Mexican food I've ever tasted. Both the street tacos and huraches were really good!

Nachos
We also ordered this good old fashion nachos (that's not how it really looks like, we just asked the server to separate the tomatoes, jalapenos and beans from the nachos).

wBanana Split
We had their own take of Banana split. They told us that they made their own whip cream and it was really insane! It was thick and at the same time flavorful and is perfectly paired with the ice cream (3 flavors and torched bananas)

We really enjoyed trying out the taste of mexico. Too bad that it was only up for sale for the whole month of May.
