Kambingan ni Apong is a new restaurant along Bagtikan street which specialized in goat and other Ilocano cuisine right in the heart of Makati City. They just opened two weeks ago and we were lucky to be invited to try out some of their menu.
We liked the interior of the restaurant, it was neat and inviting to the eyes. They served us the following food: garlic peanut, kalderetang kambing, sinampalukang kambing, sizzling bulalo, papaitang kambing, dagupan bangus, fish fingers and leche flan.
Garlic peanut (70php) - The initial garlic peanut given to us was a complimentary food and will serve as your appetizer while deciding what to order. The peanuts were so good that we decided to have another one (and this case you need to pay up for 70php and it's worth the money).

Kalderetang kambing (Full: 295php, Half: 170php) - riblets and shanks of goat meat, cut and marinated. We enjoyed eating since the meat itself was tender and it was not "malansa" compared to the other goat dish that I've tried.

Kilawin (Full: 245php, Half: 130php) - Spicy and sour appetizer made up in goat skin, marinated in vinegar, onion ginger, chilies, and other spices. the goat skin texture is almost the same with the pork one and it really complemented with the vinegar

Papaitan (Full: 245php, Half: 130php) - the restaurants best seller composed of goat’s innards such ad tripe, lungs, intestines, kidneys and of course the bile. The bile is used to make the stew bitter. One of my friend who loves papaitan said that this is how an authentic papaitan should taste like.

Sinampalukan (Full: 245php, Half: 130php) - Sour soup made from goat meat and unripe tamarind. This is similar to sinigang and is perfect for this rainy season.
Sinampalukang kambing |
Sizzling bulalo (360php) - beef shank and bone marrow served on a sizzling plate, smothered with their special cream sauce. This might be the highlight of my night. The beef shank was tendered and really complemented well with the cream sauce. The bone marrow is to die for!
Sizzling bulalo |
Fish finger (160php) - it was a unique dish since this fish fillet is made from tilapia and not the usual cream dory and it really works. The texture is a bit different but it was tasty.

Taba ng talangka (60php) & Dagupan bangus (190php) - Taba ng talangka is perfect to pair with your plain rice to further enjoyed your meal and dagupan bangus is picked up from Dagupan on the same day to bring you real freshness of a milkfish.

Leche flan (90php) - Their leche flan was creamy and has a thick consistency which we delightedly eat and ending our meal with a happy face.

If you are looking for an authentic goat meals, this is the go to place, plus they also served beers for as low as 50php which is a perfect companion for their meals. Also, hoping they can add 1 or more dish on their dessert meal but will definitely go back to try out their other menus here.
