Penthouse 8747: A Hidden Gem in Salcedo

Penthouse 8747 is located at Lepanto building which is a roof-deck bar lounge that offers a 1920's interior feel and a direct view of the beautiful Makati Skyline. They also have a huge ball room perfect for big company events. I'm a huge fan of the 1920's era and the restaurant had re-created it perfectly and you'll have a feel that you were really in the Great Gatsby film.

I was lucky enough to be invited by Krisha Montejo, the bar lounge's Marketing officer. We had the Asian Nachos, Chicken Parmigiana Wrap, Seafood Caponata, Watermelon Margarita, The Great Escape, Jellous Lover and Amaretto Sour. We were also lucky that we got to talk to one of their Chef, Allan Cabrera

Asian Nachos (405php) - Wagyu beef Asian style in wanton wrapper with coriander. I was amazed how this nachos taste so good even without a cheese on it. It has the right balance taste that you would surely enjoy. The wagyu beef is spot on and flavorful.

Asian Nachos

Chicken Parmigiana Wrap (380 php) - chicken tossed in butter and Parmesan cheese with tomato, red bell pepper, cilantro, white onion and honey mustard (spread), and combination of cheese and mozzarella cheese inside the wrapper. This was my favorite out of the three food that were served to us. Even though chicken breast was used, the taste was not bland and it complements well with the other ingredients on it. I wish they had put a little more mozzarella inside the wrap but I still enjoyed eating this one.

Seafood Caponata (460php) - zucchini, white onion, black olives, prawns, coriander, marinara sauce. Chef Allan recommend us that we should put their special homemade sauce on their flatbread pizza, and it actually works! The spiciness of the sauce gives a little kick and flavor to the pizza.

They also gave us their signature cocktail drinks and I must say that all three were worth to try. Watermelon Margarita - this one is perfect for this kind of weather. It's refreshing and the margarita didn't overpower the watermelon.

The Great Escape - Gin, fresh grape fruit, rosemary syrup topped with champagne. This one was my favorite drink out of the three cocktail drinks that were served to us.

The Great Escape

Jellous Lover - Sparkling wine, rose wine and gelatin. This drink was launched last February 14 and it became one of their best seller drink. The drink was really aesthetically good-looking and the taste also was as good as it looks.

We really really had a great time in this restaurant and will definitely come back to bring some friends here. The food was great and not that expensive (perfect for sharing), the view was majestic and this place is perfect for people who wants to unwind and relax after a long stressful day of work.

Amaretto Sour - Shoutout to their Operations Manager Ish Carmelo for this free drink :)

They also have birthday package if you want to celebrate your special day with them. And check out their anniversary video held last April 7 and the video was pretty dope!
